Food is culture is communication….and communication leads to understanding

Yesterday, on my day off, I spent time with my lovely friend Jacqui, @jacquimiyabayashiconsulting who is a fellow expat, business owner and all-round marketing maestro. For lunch we had what is aptly named as the ‘treasure chest’ lunch, which contains a perfect blend of East and West: food from entirely different cultures working nicely together to form a whole.
My primary work here at White Rose is to teach English. For me, it’s all about giving people the tools to become closer together, to enable communication and encourage understanding of other cultures. I know from my own experiences that when you speak more than one language, the world can become a true treasure chest of wonderful new discoveries. It can also lead to better understanding and acceptance of others. In the present world, I can’t help but think that that can only be a good thing. 。。。
