Here at White Rose C.C.C, I mix business with pleasure. ホワイトローズでは、趣味と仕事を兼ね合わせています。Every week I get to mash up English teaching with my love of cake baking. 毎週、大好きなケーキ作りを英語を教える仕事に楽しく取り入れています。With cakes, the response is instant. If a cake looks and tastes good, people will immediately tell you so….and it’s always good to hear! ケーキの場合、皆さんの反応が早いです！ケーキが美味しければ、すぐに教えてくれます。とても喜ばせることです。With language teaching though, the feedback can take a while longer. The results are not instant and it’s often a challenge to keep students motivated. しかしながら、語学学習では、進捗状況は、時間がかかります。動力の結果はすぐに表れないため、生徒さんのやる気が簡単に削がれます。生徒さんに希望と自信を与えるのは先生の大きな仕事です。
I have the pleasure of teaching many different age groups, from elementary school students starting out with the ABCs to retired ladies who enjoy English as a hobby. ABCの勉強からスタートをする小学生から、退職後に英語を趣味として楽しんでいる奥様まで、 ホワイトローズでは、色々な年齢の生徒さんを対応しています。Every week, I literally spend hours preparing the lesson materials and am constantly on the lookout for new games, songs and books.毎週、教える側として、レッスンの教材の準備に多くの時間をかけています。いつでも、新しい歌、ゲーム、本などを一生懸命探しています。 If I’m honest, I sometimes sit down in front of the computer and find the task of planning 9 or 10 new lessons for that week absolutely daunting. 正直に言えば、その週のレッスンの用意をするためにコンピューターの前に座るとおじけづかせ感じる時もあります。However, there is no greater feeling than being told that your teaching is making a difference. だけれども、生徒さんに少しでもの進捗が見えると本当に、本当に嬉しいです。This week, I was thrilled to hear back from happy customers on more than one occasion. 今週は、あちろこちらから、とても励ませてくれる声がかけられました。”My Junior High School daughter really didn’t like studying English, but in the last few months, since she started studying with you, her listening skills have vastly improved and she’s really enjoying the lessons. “「中学生の娘は英語が本当に苦手でしたが、この数か月前からホワイトルーズで勉強し始めて、聞く力がすごく伸びた。英語学習を楽しむようになった。ありがとうね。」 “My elementary school daughter has suddenly started to read English. The phonetic sounds that you have been teaching her have finally clicked and she’s discovered the fun of reading.”「小学生の娘は最近英語を読めるようになった！本当にびっくりしました。レッスンで教えてくれたフォニックスの意味が等々分かったようです。」”My grandson really loves learning English with you and the games you play look like such fun.”「孫が英語のレッスンが大好きです。いつもゲームなどを通して勉強している姿が楽しそうです。」
