A week of sweet and sour!

IMG_1916Wow. What a week this has been. うわーっ!今週、本当にバタバタしていました。My son was sick from another bad migraine. Lots of things in and around our house broke. And, most importantly, my daughter graduated from High School. 息子がまたひどい編頭痛になり、学校にお迎えをお願いされ;家のあちらこちらの物が突然に壊れ;そして娘の高校卒業式がありました。Nobody can say that my life is boring. 退屈する暇がないですね!Luckily, I’m never too tired to bake and this week’s offering is a favourite amongst my students: lemon drizzle cake.I just love the delicate lemon flavour of the cake, moistened after baking with a tangy, sweet and sour syrup made from sugar and lemon juice. Yum! しかし、ケーキ作りで気持ちが落ち着きます。今週のお菓子は生徒の中にとても人気があるレモンドリズルケーキです。英語ではドリズル’drizzle’は 霧雨と言う意味でもあります。料理では、上から液体なものを振り掛ける。焼き立てのレモンケーキの上に甘酸っぱいレモン汁と砂糖から作られているシロップ を振り掛ける。最高に美味しいですよ!
