When simple is best

Honestly speaking, in yet another week that has seen extremely sad and worrying news from around the world, I’ve found it a little difficult to get excited about baking. 今週も、世界のあちらこちらからとても心配な、悲しいニュースが届いた中、正直に言うとベーキングに対してあまりやる気が出なかった。I eventually decided to keep things simple and pulled out a trusty recipe book that I bought 25 years ago. 最終的に25年前に買った、どんな時に当てになるレシピの本を引っ張り出しました。The result was a pleasant surprise. These ‘date’ buns may not be as romantic as they sound, but they are incredibly easy to make and surprisingly delicious. 結果はうれしい驚きでした。ロマンチックなデートケーキではなく、とても簡単に出来上がったナツメヤシのDate Bun’ (少し柔らめなスコーンのような物)がとても美味しかったです。So, if you need a sweet pick-me-up on this Saturday morning, get out your apron and check out the recipe at the usual place. だから、この土曜日の朝に元気を出すために甘いものが必要としている貴方、エープロンを用意して、レシピはこちらへ。。。
